We all met at Mom and Dad’s over the weekend to celebrate Beck’s birthday. It’s always fun (and noisy) when we get together.
And no Werner birthday can be complete unless you get your nose buttered. Why, you ask? I have no idea. It’s just a very weird family tradition we have.
So weird, in fact, it terrifies the younger generation. Brook was not impressed. She had a look of abject horror on her face. Why on earth would Papa Jim do such a thing to her sweet Auntie? It makes no sense!

Not sure why the buttering of the nose but pretty sure it was something Grandpa Elton started as a fun thing to do to make all the kids upset, just like spitting on new shoes!!
He also welcomed you to his coffee club by burning the back of your hand with the hot spoon. I remember Lisa would never wear those shoes again.
