Football Finale and Family

The Raiders made it to the playoffs this past week. Which is quite an accomplishment for any team, and we were excited to be one of them. And guess what? The location for the tournament game was no other than Grandma Lois’s town!

So we headed up to cheer on our Raiders and visit Grandma.

I am sad to report that we lost the football game, but it wasn’t for lack of effort. These guys gave 110% and I am very proud of all of them.

But the next day we got to visit Grandma. She’s doing great, by the way. We had a wonderful visit and Grandma filled us in on some family history. It was so interesting!

She told us how she and Grandpa met. I got a kick out of that, even though I’d heard it before. My kids did, too. She said she was a bookkeeper in a men’s clothing store and Grandpa came in to buy some clothes. Well, he took a shine to Grandma, so after that, he would go in fairly often to buy a pair of socks just so he could see her. One thing led to another, and the rest is history. But Grandpa ended up with a lot of socks. Lol.

We had a great time!

  1. Sorry you lost the game but it was great that you got to visit Lois. It is great to see that she looks so good and they are great pictures of you guys with her. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Making it to playoffs is a huge achievement. The Raiders played hard and scored several times against a tough team. Grandma was so glad to see all of you. She has an excellent memory and enjoys sharing family history. It’s hard to believe she will be 98 in less than three weeks.
