Last Friday Aunt Heather, her kids, and Matt were down to make gingerbread houses. We used to do this when we were little, and Mom thought it would be fun to do it with Ty, Jake, Emma, and Brook. Here are some pictures of us when we were little.
We had a big day planned. On top of making gingerbread houses we wanted to get the Christmas goodies ready for neighbors and Sunday school teachers. We were giving bread to the Sunday school teachers and frosted sugar cookies. Quite ambitious. But guess what? We did it! We were exhausted by the end of the day, but we had a bunch of fun! I’ll tell you about the baking and playing in another blog.
Here’s the table of sweets on Saturday. Mom wanted it to be a show stopper! We upgraded the houses from the past. Jessica, Abby, and I made them the night before so the frosting would be strong enough to support gobs’ of candy put on by little hands. Abby couldn’t stay for the decorating.
And we’re off!
Brook was pretty good about putting the candy on, when she wasn’t trying to put it in her mouth!
We finished the gingerbread houses! We didn’t get a picture of them complete. Bummer. We had a lot of fun. I’ll tell you about the rest of our day in another blog!
Have a good day!
