Training Buck

You may recall that a month or so ago we attended a horse sale and brought home Buck.

Buck and Matt have been learning all sorts of things together, and tonight I went out with my camera and captured the training session.

It usually starts with Matt lunging Buck. First one way…

And then the other.

Next, he pets him all over…

And picks up all his feet.

Then he’ll take the rope and toss it all over Buck; around his legs, over his back, under his belly, etc.

Tonight, he added something new and swung the rope over Buck’s head. Buck didn’t seem to mind.

Also tonight, he worked on loading Buck in a trailer. Buck’s been loaded a few times, but he’s never really been sure about the trailer. Tonight, he loaded like a champ.

I had so much fun watching these two! I can’t wait to see what they do next.
