Working Larson Grass Calves

Jessica HaysUncategorized

A couple weeks ago we worked Uncle Will and Aunt Bon’s heifers that were on grass.

Uncle Will called them in with the tractor and feeder.

Then Matt and Jacob followed them in.

Andrew and Matt kept the cattle in the alley. Aunt Bon’s job was to run the chute, read tag numbers and call out weights.

Jacob put the implants in.

And I kept track of paperwork and poured the heifers.

What’s cattle work without a little fun? Luckily for Matt (or maybe Aunt Bon?) the battery was dead.

Luke was our Super Trucker for the day so when he showed up, the boys got him backed up…

And loaded in no time flat.

These girls got to go to some nice cover crop. It was a fun morning and the heifers enjoy their new home.

Have a great week!
